Relay/Dimming Modules
Single/Double Pole Relay Module

-
The modules used in Touché’s RD Panels come in three different variants:
- R-1P-120/277: Single-Pole Relay Module for RD Panel
- R-2P-120/277: Double-Pole Relay Module for RD Panel
- FDIM-3W-120/277: 3-Wire Fluorescent Dimming Module for RD Panel
- Both of the relay module styles utilize New Technology "Zero-Cross" Switching. Relays are only turned on and off at the zero-cross point of the voltage/current sine-wave. This greatly reduces damage to the lamps and ballasts being controlled by the relay. The Touché engineers have developed a new and enhanced method for "Zero-Cross" switching. This new method is self calibrating so as the system components age the module still accurately controls by the zero-cross point of the sine wave.
- 3-wire fluorescent dimming modules are compatible with most 3-wire fluorescent dimming ballasts (consult factory for a complete list of compatible ballasts). Modules are capable of step levels of 1% for the full range of the controlled ballast (0 – 100%).
- All modules are inter-changeable, each module includes self diagnostics providing the system and user vital information regarding the health and status of their system. Not only do the modules know what state they are in, they know if the voltage source is present and if there are any abnormalities with the module itself. All of this information is automatically transmitted to, and organized by, the server for a quick and simple “glance” at the state of the system.
Local Relay Modules (LRM-2P-120/277)
-
Local Relay Modules provide a means of distributed control. This allows the installer to place the module in close proximity to the controlled load (i.e. in the room where the lights are controlled). This is especially attractive for
retro-fit applications. -
Local Relay Modules are connected to the network via a Multi-Function Interface (MFI-16-CM) with a standard Cat5 cable that is daisy-chained from device to device. Up to 16 Local Relay Modules can be connected to one
Multi-Function Interface. - Local Relay Modules each contain 2 Single Pole Relays with a collective rating of 16 amps (80% of NEC required 20A circuit) and up to 277VAC. Each module incorporates the latest in “zero-cross” switching technology for improved lamp and ballast life.
- Installers can connect up to 3 Micro Occupancy Sensors, 1 Micro Ambient Light Sensor, and 1 Single Function Switch per Local Relay Module. This provides an attractive and budget conscious approach for lighting control.
- Each Local Relay Module can be configured at the Building Management Server to act as a motorized window blind or projector screen controller. Local control of “up and down” commands at the local control relay make setup a snap.
- Local Relay Modules mount to a standard 4" x 4" electrical junction box.
- CT option: Add a current transformer to monitor power usage.
