Master Interface

  • Master Interfaces are the communication bridge between Touché’s daisy chained, multi-node, communication network and your Ethernet network.  Up to (100) interface type devices (i.e. multi-function interfaces, input interfaces, configurable switches, etc.) can be connected to one Master Interface.  Each interface then allows connection of its sub-devices.
    • Example
      • If (20) Input Interfaces are connected to one Master Interfaces; (16) Ambient/Occ Sensors can be connected to each Input Interface.  In this example the total number of connections to just one Master Interface is (320)

  • There are NO limits to the number of Master Interfaces that can be included in any system.  This makes the Touché solution to lighting control a very scalable solution from one to hundreds of
    Master Interfaces. 
  • Most of the devices connected to the Master Interface get their power from the Master Interface through the daisy chained Cat5 cable.  This makes for a simple and cost effective wiring scheme. 
  • The Master Interface includes a self and system diagnostic feature that continually monitors for errors and/or failures in the system.  If a condition develops that would be catastrophic to the system (i.e. wires are shorted), the Master Interface will automatically disconnect all devices from the power source in an effort to protect the system. 
  • All status and diagnostics of the master’s sub-system are visible on its local touch-screen display.  Additionally, all of this information is automatically communicated to the server for inclusion into a system wide “health report.”  
  • The Master Interface has as an available optional battery backup.  This allows for continual monitoring even when there is a power outage.  This is crucial for applications where the user is integrating Touché’s lighting control with Touché’s security control.
