Our Core Values

Simplicity

Everything we do revolves around making things simple for our customers. We know that building projects require attention to thousands of details. Our job is to take the headaches out of the process for something that just needs to work. From the way our lighting control solutions are designed to the level of follow-up support that we provide, we consider it a win when your day goes smoothly.

Focus on the Best

We focus on simplicity but we’re also engineers at heart  meaning that we really love state-of-the-art technology and solutions. And because we love it, we make sure our customers get it. You deserve the best, most reliable solutions, and we’re committed to providing them.

Do the Right Thing

It seems so simple: just make your customers happy! In fact, it takes a lot of hard work to make it happen  and not everyone is willing to make that effort. Since 2009, our team has been committed to doing the right thing and this belief is at the core of Touché’s identity, ethics, and practice.

Our History

img_1182Touché Lighting Control was founded in 2009 by Michael Picco and Ronald Laux. At the time, Picco and Laux owned a prominent electrical engineering and construction company in northern Indiana. That company specialized in two concentrated fields: Large commercial installations (schools, multi-story office buildings, hospitals, and the like) and process control systems for the industrial market including water and wastewater treatment plants for municipalities. Their involvements in those two sub-industries provided the catalyst for an innovative and forward-thinking company: Touché Controls.

Prior to starting Touché, Picco and Laux marveled in the fact that their expert teams of electricians, technicians, and engineers could design and install sophisticated, completely automated solutions for the industrial market, but would struggle when implementing lighting control systems offered by other manufacturers. It was perplexing to them that the most basic tasks like sensor adjustment, scene configuration, and time-clock modification would often require a manufacturer’s technicians to modify. Wiring schemes were difficult to implement, and installation procedures were laborious.

So, the goal was set — design, develop, and manufacturer the world’s first truly simple (but feature rich) lighting control solution. They would use control concepts that were tested and prevalent in the industrial process control world; implement the latest in hardware and software technologies; and keep cost and ROI a part of every decision. These three initiatives are what makes Touché such a powerful, simple, and cost effective solution.
